William P. Elliott III, passed away in his home on May 15, 2017. William, formally known as “Billy”, was born in Beaumont on March 16, 1982. Billy was a father, brother, son and dear friend to all. He graduated from Lamar University with a bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design. Aside from many talents, Billy was an extraordinary photographer; a true god given gift. He was an avid Boston Red Sox and Patriots fan but his loyalty to the LSU Tigers surpassed all. Billy had an innate ability to light up a room and a beyond contagious smile. Known for his humor, congeniality and ‘bear’ hugs, he never met a stranger.

Billy wore a lot of hats, but his most important one was fatherhood. He was assistant coach of his daughter’s soccer team, The Beaumont Golden Gators – a role he took very seriously. He enjoyed powerlifting, painting, Chaba, Notorious B.I.G., Game of Thrones, football and above all – pizza. Billy was a patient, gentle and thoughtful soul. He lived his life like he meant it – with conviction. He was the friend everyone wanted, the sibling and son his family was lucky to have and the father his daughter is blessed to know.

Survivors include his sisters, Kelley Elliott of Houston and Kasey Maher and her husband, Dan, of Boston, Massachusetts; daughter, Ruby Elliott of Beaumont; nephews, Hayes and Hudson Maher; and numerous friends and extended family.

He is preceded in death by his parents, William “Pete” Elliott and Judith “Judy” Jones.

A gathering of Mr. Elliott’s family and friends will begin at 1:00 p.m. with his memorial service to follow at 2:00 p.m., Friday, May 19, 2017, at Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin Avenue, Beaumont. His cremation arrangements were handled through Broussard’s Crematorium.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Periwinkle Foundation, 3400 Bissonnet Street, Suite 185, Houston, Texas 77005; or to Mental Health America of Southeast Texas, 2444 Broadway, Beaumont, Texas 77702.

To Kelley, Kasey and Family,
There are no words that can ever express the sorrow I feel for each of you on the terrible loss of Billy. I literally could not speak when Christopher told me the news, especially since it was on Pete's anniversary. Billy was such a teddy bear, always kind and loving. I never heard him speak an unkind or mean word. His God given talents for art and photography were amazing.
When Christopher started St. Anne's Billy was very protective of his new brother, which Christopher loved and appreciated. On Christmas Eve when we couldn't find Billy and Jimmy, they laughed hysterically when we found them on our roof. But Billy paid a price for that stunt.....he got sick, thanks to Jimmy!
Kasey, I read your public post about Billy's death on May 18, 2017. You were so brave to be so honest and it was incredibly touching. You WILL honor Billy each time you speak on those issues, as they are the issues of this world. Billy will watch you "fight for him everyday" as you fight to save others.
I will love you always,
Candy Carr Howell

I didn't know Billy very well but I will never forget the smiles he and Ruby shared when he picked her up.
Know that you are all in my thoughts and prayers.

Billy truly was one of the warmest people I've ever met. People say that kind of thing all of the time, but Billy really was the best! Although we'd known each other since school, Our life paths brought us around each other more recently. I literally never saw you without leaving smiling. You really were a beautiful person and you will be sorely missed. Love to his family and Ruby.
