Hilda Laughlin Rusche, born September 16, 1922, in Jennings, Louisiana, to Arita Ducharme Laughlin and Lewis James Laughlin departed this life on April 11, 2017.
Hilda spent her early childhood years in Louisiana and moved to Port Arthur with her family in 1935. She graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in June of 1940.
Hilda married John August Rusche, Jr., in May of 1955. Hilda and John had three children, Paula, Lewis and Howard, and they were married for just shy of twenty-eight years when John died in 1983. Hilda moved to Beaumont in 2003 to be near her children.
She is survived by her children, Paula Rusche; Lewis Rusche; and Howard Rusche and his wife, Leslie, all of Beaumont.
Hilda is preceded in death by her parents; husband, John August Rusche, Jr.; sisters, Mary Jane Laughlin and Judy Johnson; and daughter-in-law, Toni Rusche.
A gathering of Mrs. Rusche’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 12, 2017, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. Her funeral service will be 11:00 a.m., Thursday, April 13, 2017, at Broussard’s, with her interment to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park, Groves.
