David Burl Drinkard

Martha Jo and I were deeply saddened to learn of David's passing. David was a good friend and former student of mine. I reconnected with David in about 1995 and did much framing work for his wonderful wildlife art. His work is fantastic and ranks right up there with the very few special wildlife artists. Yes, he was a great artist, but a better person. He loved his family, and he loved and trusted God. He and his work have a special legacy with me and my family. We will miss him. Beverly, may God bless and comfort you and your family.

I have fished with David and my house is full of his art work. He was a fine person, friend, and artist. I am truly sorry for your loss. No doubt heaven will have some new wildlife art work on the walls. God Bless

Barbara and I wish to express our condolences to the family. We lived in Palacios when David was an teacher, finsherman, hunter, and crazy golfer!! There were times when David and I would play golf all day from morning to evening. sometimes 54 holes in one day!!! He loved life and brightened everyone's day around him!! I was a shrimper and at times David would trade some prints for some fresh shrimp! I know that I came much better with those priceless paintings!!!! I had not seen David in many years but I was fortunate to talk to him on the phone about 2 months ago!! That was priceless as well!!!

The world is missing a great man today. So very sorry for your family's loss. Praying that your wonderful memories will bring you some comfort and peace.

David will be missed by collectors and friends around the world who either knew him personally,
Or simply folks who just loved looking at his beautiful drawings.
Although, David is gone, his paintings and the inspiration they convey will live on for countless generations to come.

Mr Drinkard was one of the biggest influences in my life. Thank you for teaching me about art and life. His teaching shaped me into the man I am today. My condolences to the Drinkard family.

David was a very sweet and talented man. His passion showed in the painting that hang throughout our house. I got the privilege of fishing with him and watch him shoot,but most of all he was a great friend to my husband Jommy.They had a great friendship and he will be truly missed. I have a wonderful painting of my husband and one of his duck hunting dogs that David painted years ago. My husband has been gone almost two years and I treasure the painting.

Our hearts are deeply saddened by the passing of David. He was a great supporter for our Buckmasters American Deer Foundation Heart of Texas Chapter in Brownwood. His artwork at our charity banquets helped raise funds and d make dreams come true of a lot of kids with terminal illness. Prayers for his family... we love you all and you are very special to us.

So sorry to read the sad news of David's passing. My deepest sympathy to all his family and friends. My husband and I first met David when he was in college, and his Dad was my husband's boss. Over the years we acquired several of David's paintings, and then he became a co-worker of mine when he joined the faculty at Warren High School. We have lost a kind, and very talented, man. Prayers for peace during this time of your mourning.

We are saddened to read in today's paper that David passed away. Tom grew up with David at Woodland Baptist Church and went to school with him. We still have one of his first paintings of a fish. May God be with you during this difficult time.
