I did not know Coach Lord died. What a shame and a loss. He will always be Coach Lord to me, as he was one of my first PE coaches at Amelia. I also grew up in Cathederal with him and his family and fondly recall all of them. I will keep the family in my prayers

How appropriate that John was born on Christmas day. What a precious gift he was. I believe he (and God) chose March 31st for his home going, just hours away from April Fools Day. HIs life was no joke, but he had the heart of a "jokester" and that was part of what made him so endearing. John also had the heart of a true servant. Years ago as a single mom, John would always assure me that if I had any "auto' needs, to just drop by his station and he would take care of that for me. I did not have to do that often, but I had the peace of knowing that if I needed help he was there with the "mechanical know-how", a smile and a hug. Over the past years, very time I was in town, I would be sure to find him at Catherdral on a Sunday morning to get one of those sweet smiles and hugs. I will miss that. I am delighted he is in Heaven with his precious son Bobby, his buddy Gilbert and his Savior. What a happy man he must be. I know that John will be waiting at Heaven's gate to welcome each of us with that smile and hug. Heaven gets sweeter everyday. I will always remember and be grateful for the time I had with John last summer. May God bless each of you as together we greive the loss of his presence here and anticipate that great reunion. I am so sorry to hear of John's death. He truly was one of the nicest people around. Maybe it will help you some, knowing that John was loved and admired by our whole class, and I know by many others. I will keep you in my prayers. God bless you, Linda
