Bertha George Thomas, 87, of Beaumont, died Wednesday, March 30, 2005 at The Clairmont.
A native of Beruit, Lebanon, she lived in Beaumont most of her life and worked with her husband, Bobby, in the family business, John Thomas Candy Company and was a retired homemaker.
She is survived by her son, Larry J. Thomas and his wife Victoria of Beaumont, and Dennis P. Thomas and his wife Bera of Lumberton; her daughter, Glenda Thomas Tristan of Beaumont; her brothers, Eddie George of Groves and Morris George of Beaumont; her sisters, Yvonne George Pompolina of Port Arthur, Loretta George Rastelli of Port Arthur, Mary Ann George DeRuiter of San Antonio, and Norma Lee George Fountain of Pasadena; her grandchildren, Christina M. Thomas, Heather Thomas Carroll, Aleesha Tristan Mick, Stephanie Thomas Roberts, Christopher Thomas, Chad D. Thomas and Amanda B. Thomas; her great grandchildren, Caleb Carroll, Krista Roberts and Kyleigh Carroll; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Her husband, Bobby Thomas, , her daughter, Shirley Ann Thomas Gay, her brother, Latief George and her sister, Margaret George preceded her in death.
Funeral service will be 2:30 P.M. on Saturday, April 2, 2005 at St. Michael’s Anthiochian Orthodox Christian Church with burial to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park under the direction of Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin, Beaumont. A Trisagion will be 7:00 P.M. Friday, April 1, 2005 at the mortuary.
