Velma Colleen Bagesse

Velma Colleen Bagesse 75, of Beaumont, died Wednesday, March 30, 2005 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont.

A native of Searcy, Arkansas, and lifelong resident of Beaumont, she graduated from Beaumont High School, was in the top ten of her nursing class at Lamar University. She retired from Baptist Hospital after thirty-seven years. Velma supported the food ministry at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church; she loved traveling with her family and crocheted for her family and friends.

She is survived by her husband, Frank Bagesse; her daughters, Joleen Cooley and her husband Bobby and Sharon Kay Galloway all of Beaumont; her grandchildren, Desiree Toro and her husband Carlos of Lake Charles, Louisiana, Chandra Jones and her husband Ray of Beaumont, Donna Galloway of Dallas and Dina Galloway of Beaumont; her great grandchildren, Kayla Toro, Colin Toro, Tanner Jones and Bree Jones.

Funeral services will be 11:30 A.M. Friday, April 1, 2005 at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church with burial to follow at Magnolia Cemetery under the direction of Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin, Beaumont. A gathering of family and friends will be 5:00 until 8:00 P.M. Thursday, March 31, 2005 at the mortuary.
