Agnes Lawson Pigford, 94, of Beaumont died May 9, 2004 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital. A native of Galesburg, Illinois, she lived in Canada before spending most of her life in Beaumont. Agnes was married to the late Walter Scott Pigford for more than 65 years. She was a long-time director of Sabine Oaks and volunteered with the Camp Fire Girls, receiving the Luther Halsey Gulick National Award. She was active with the Beaumont Humane Society and St. Mark's Episcopal Church, and she volunteered to host foreign students from Lamar University.
Mrs. Pigford is survived by her son, Dr. Scott Pigford and his wife Diana of Littleton, Colorado; daughters, Wanda Flanders and her husband Howard of Littleton and Patricia Fraser and her husband Russell of Cody, Wyoming; grandchildren, Karli Pigford, Greg Pigford, Kenneth Flanders and his wife Heather, Christine Sund and her husband Marc, Douglas Flanders and his wife Cristin and Madelyn Amundsen and her husband Stein; and four great-grandchildren, Ian Flanders, Katharine Flanders, Curran Flanders and Flynn Sund.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, May 13, 2004 at St. Mark's Episcopal Church followed by burial at Magnolia Cemetery under the direction of Broussard's, 2000 McFaddin, Beaumont. A gathering of family and friends will be from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Wednesday evening, May 12, 2004 at the mortuary.
