Curley J. Breaux, 91, of Port Acres, passed away Thursday, August 25, 2016 at his home surrounded by family. He was born on April 29, 1925, in Breaux Bridge, Louisiana, to Elida Stoute Breaux and Dona Dieu Breaux.

Curley was a United States Navy veteran having served in World War II. He retired from Texaco as a machinist after forty-five years of service. Curley was a member of St. Therese, The Little Flower of Jesus Catholic Church. He enjoyed his boat and taking his nieces and nephews for rides, travelling in his motorhome and traveling internationally with his wife. Curley’s love for his friends and family came naturally. He will be remembered as a loving and generous soul and for his love of family.

Survivors include his loving wife of seventy years, Merjie Dore’ Breaux of Port Acres; grandchildren, Gerald Breaux, Jr and his wife, Nina, of Bridge City; Melissa Breaux Walles and her husband, Terry, of Beaumont; Ronald Dale Breaux, Jr. and his wife, Staci, of Bridge City; and David Allen Breaux of Sulphur, Louisiana; brothers, Melvin J. Breaux and Calvin J. Breaux, both of Port Acres; sisters, Juanita Marie Standley of Port Arthur and Elsie Lou Domingue of Lafayette; numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sons, Gerald Earl and Ronald Dale Breaux; two brothers; and three sisters.

The family would like to extend special thanks to Curley’s primary caregivers, Gail Garrett and Roberta Cezar for his care the past two and a half years.

A gathering of Mr. Breaux’s family and friends will be 3:00 p.m., with his funeral service at 5:00 p.m., Sunday, August 28, 2016, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. Cremation arrangements will be under the direction of Broussard’s Crematorium, Beaumont.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mr. Breaux’s memory to St. Therese, The Little Flower of Jesus Catholic Church, 6412 Garnet Avenue, Port Arthur, Texas 77640.
