To the entire Sooudi family, I am so very sad for all of you. I can't imagine losing a child or spouse. I was lucky enough to have had some interactions with Steven over the last few years. He was my mom's cardiologist and he helped me answer some scary questions after a procedure strictly as a friend. He went way above and beyond what most doctor's would have done. Steven made people feel better about themselves. He was a person that I couldn't wait to deal with as he always left me with a smile on my face.
Anybody, that was lucky enough to come into contact with him understands how kind and good he was. He leaves behind a legacy of being a man, who made our world a better place.

Great cardiologist for both of us as well as a friend. Steven was always upbeat and we enjoyed the opportunities to visit over the years. Our community as a whole and especially our medical community will miss him!

My deepest condolences to Dr. Sooudi's family. He was a fine Cardiologist who had deep compassion for his patient's and their families. I worked with him on a few occasions (in Cardiac Cath Lab - I'm a Respiratory Therapist) and saw his expertise at work. He will be missed.

I worked with Dr. Matt in surgery at Baptist Hospital till he retired and he always talked about his family and how much Love he has for them.I first met Steven and his sister when he was about 2 years old when he and his sister was at a festival at the Art Museum ,he heard th music playing and he got his sister and just started dancing on the platform, they danced all by themself. Happy with out of care that groups ofgrownups was watching them dance. I always remember the happiness of that day of your family.

Dear Matt and Joyce, son Jeff's message yesterday about Steven was heart breaking and sad. We thought that Steven was getting better, and doing trials at MDAnderson. We enjoy our memories of living next door when the boys were growing up. I just sent word to Brad in Colorado. Glad all of your family is gathered around you in Beaumont....a blessing. Dr. Sooudi was my heart doctor for several months in 2012. I was over weight and he suggested I get gastric bypass surgery. After I lost 115 lbs., he said that my heart was much better and hugged me for doing what he suggested. He was the nicest doctor and treated me wonderfully. I am so sorry for your loss. He will be missed greatly!
