Odessa Welch Moore, 86, of Nederland, died Monday March 21, 2005 at her residence in Nederland.
Funeral and Eastern Star services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, March 24, 2005 at Broussard’s in Nederland with Rev. Dale Chance, and the Eastern Star, Nederland Lodge officiating. Graveside services will follow at 3:00 p.m. at the Ryans Chapel Cemetery in Diboll. A gathering of family and friends will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday evening at the mortuary.
Mrs. Moore was a native of Burke, Texas and lived in the Nederland and Port Arthur area for 59 years. She was an active member of the First United Methodist Church in Nederland, a charter member of the Nederland Eastern Star Chapter #1079, and a member of B.A. Ritter Senior Citizen’s Center where she worked as a volunteer receptionist.
She was the wife of the late Edwin L. Welch, and survived by her son, Joe Edwin Welch, and his wife Marylyn of Little Cypress. Two granddaughters, Crystal Phillips and husband Nicholas of Nederland, and Paisley Ware and husband James of Groves. Her great granddaughter, Madeline Phillips, great grandson, Jansen Ware, and great granddaughter, Maegan Ware. She is also survived by her brother, C.B. Crager of Chandler, Texas, and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
