Nettie Lee Hebert 82, of Beaumont, passed away peacefully in her sleep on June 27, 2016.

Nettie was born on June 18, 1934, in Church Point, Louisiana, and was the first born child to Clebert and Marie Cormier.

Nettie was a counselor for drug and alcohol addiction at Land Manor Halfway House in Beaumont. Filled with compassion, a wonderful sense of humor and an interest in others Nettie made friends easily. Family and friends were Nettie's passion and delight. She loved traveling, dancing, and family gatherings. She was proud of her Cajun heritage and could cook the best jambalaya and gumbo. Her most precious pride and joy were her 5 children, 11 grandchildren, and 20 great-grandchildren.

Nettie is survived by her children, Jimmy Stanford, Jane Kennedy (Troy), Theresa Goodman (Curtis), Tommy Stanford (Debbie), and Allen Stanford; grandchildren, Ronnie (Deanna), Allison (Paul), Robert (Stephanie), Dallon (Sunny), Katy (Ryan), Curt, Chad (Courtney), Cody (Jessie), Tia (Billy), Heather (Seth), Amy (Dalton), and 20 precious great-grandchildren; siblings, Andrew Cormier, Della Charles (Raymond), Janelle Lavergne, Nolan Cormier (Glenda) and Dean Cormier; and lifelong friend, Peggy Tammen. She also leaves behind numerous loving relatives and friends.

Nettie is preceded in death by her loving husband, Carroll; parents, Clebert and Marie Cormier; child, John Wayne Stanford; sister, Judy Ardoin; brother, Merlin Cormier; and best friend, Jesse Foster.

A gathering of Mrs. Hebert’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 29, 2016, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, June 30, 2016, at St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church, 6825 Gladys Avenue, Beaumont, with entombment to follow at Magnolia Cemetery, Beaumont.

The family thanks Summer Place Nursing Home with a special thanks to Dr Danny.

Nettie lived by the Golden Rule: Treat others the way you would like to be treated. In her memory do an act of kindness, make someone laugh, send a card, give a hug, or say "I love you" to your family or special friend.

Lift up your heart, Peace be to thee, God wanted me. He set me free. It's my time to leave and be with my true sweetheart. Our mother's memory will be carried on in the legacy of love which is now within each of us - the lives she formed and touched by her love.

She was our Angel that lived, laughed, and loved.

As we start to begin to get excited about the Holiday season my heart skips a beat...or two. These past 5 months have flown but there has not been a day that I have not thought about you and our wonderful memories. I miss you so SO much. Love you my sweet Bamaw.
