Dorothy “Dot” Cobb Wade Tesson, 88, of Houston, died Wednesday, May 11, 2016, in her home. She was born on May 29, 1927, in Call, Texas, to Mildred Beavers Cobb and Oliver O. Cobb.

Dot grew up in China, Texas living with extended family and graduated from China High School. She attended Sam Houston College in Huntsville and graduated from Lamar University in Beaumont. She married Luke Wade in 1946 and they moved to College Station for his education. After his graduation they lived in New Orleans and Morgan City, Louisiana until his death in 1959. After his death she moved back to Beaumont with her children. In Beaumont, she returned to school and worked for Shaffer Tools. In 1966 she moved her family to New Orleans to take a job as a business consultant. In 1970 she married Pat Tesson and in 1972 they started a business in the oil industry doing support work. That business grew into several businesses world-wide and she resided with Pat in Houston, Scotland, and Singapore for the next 20 years. She and Pat retired in Park City, Utah. Their home in Park City was open to all their family and friends (and children’s friends) for vacations. They returned to the Houston area for the final years of their lives. Though she came to them in the middle of her life, she loved golf and snow skiing, but family was her passion.

Dot is survived by her daughters, Linda Humphries and her husband, Bryan, of Conroe, and Debra Powell of New Orleans, Louisiana; sons, David Wade of Conroe; Michael Wade and his wife, Jan, of Centennial, Colorado; Richard Tesson of Houston; grandchildren, Geoff Humphries of The Woodlands; Jonathan Humphries of The Woodlands; John Winslow, and his wife, Stormy, of The Woodlands; Jay Winslow and his wife, Jeni, of Denver, Colorado; Ginny Weigleb and her husband, Daniel, of Louisville; Daniel Winslow and his wife, Leticia, of Spring; Julie Bonomo and her husband, James, of Nashville, Tennessee; Wes Walker of Newport Beach, California; Barrett Tesson and his wife, Brittany, of Houston; Mimi Tesson of Houston; Alexxandra Tesson of Houston; Beth Haga and her husband, Chris, of Dallas; Tiffany Hillegass and her husband, James, of Covington, Louisiana; and Patrick Tesson Jr. of Houston; and great-grandchildren, Katelyn and Courtney Humphries of Conroe; Sarah and Sam Winslow of The Woodlands; Haley, Sydney, Kylie, and Aaron Winslow of Spring; Evan, Whitney and Savannah Winslow of Denver, Colorado; Kyra Shuler of Nashville, Tennessee; Lucas, Oliver and Elijah Weigleb of Louisville; and Avery and Barrett Tesson of Houston; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.

We four cannot think of Dot and Patt Tesson without fond memories of work and play together. Dot was the glue that held so many people together, friends and certainly family. I'll bet that NOBODY reading this note will have known Dot without having had a good laugh with her. We all have fond memories of Dot and Pat. You will be missed, but fondly remembered.
