Barbara “Bobbie” Dillon Hood, of Beaumont, Texas, died on May 8, 2016, after a valiant battle with cancer. She was born in Kansas City, Kansas, to Elva and Logan Dillon, on June 27, 1932.

Barbara is survived by her husband of sixty-three years, James Hood; their children, Kathleen Haskins, of Beaumont; Saundra Walton and her husband, Ronald, of Lumberton; and Michael Hood, of Beaumont; six grandchildren, Jennifer Stone, of Austin, Diana Johnson, of Sour Lake, Andrew Walton, of Chicago, Illinois, Julie Harwell, of Lumberton, Cassandra Marble, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and Miranda Hood, of Beaumont; five great-grandchildren, Addison and Branson Langston, and Colton, Kinley, and Kambri Harwell; and a large extended family.

Highly creative, Barbara loved painting and sewing. Her skill with a pattern and thread resulted in gifts for everyone she loved. Her hours on the golf course were another source of joy for her. A wonderful and loving mother and grandmother, she enjoyed spending time with family, playing board games, sharing meals, and always laughing. A woman of strong Christian faith, she was a member of the HAMACO Sunday School class at Trinity United Methodist Church. Barbara will be missed by everyone who loved her.

Cremation arrangements were handled by Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont.
