Douglas Grey Batson, 57, of Bevil Oakes died March 5, 2005. A native of Goldsboro, North Carolina and raised in Center, Texas, Douglas moved to the Beaumont area in 1967 and worked as a O.T.R. driver for Mamo Transportation.
He is survived by his sons, Traylor Douglas Batson of Nederland; Trevor William Batson of Beaumont; brother, Leon Batson of Richardson; nephew, Ross Batson of Dallas; aunt, Katherine Batson of Goldsboro, North Carolina; cousin, Terry Batson of Goldsboro, North Carolina. Sandy Baston of Bevil Oaks, David Johnson of Bevil Oaks and Lynn Asher of Lumberton also survive him. Douglas was preceded in death by his parents, L.D. and Elizabeth Batson of Center.
A graveside service will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 10, 2005 at Pine Ridge Cemetery in Sour Lake under the direction of Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive. A gathering of family and friends will be Thursday morning from 10:00 a.m. until noon at the mortuary.
