Rosalie Lupo Dartez, 85, of Winnie, died Saturday, December 26, 2015. She was born on April 8, 1930, in Opelousas, Louisiana, to Dora Maranto and Charles Vincent Lupo.

Rosalie moved to Port Arthur after she turned one. She graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in January of 1949, from the last mid-term graduating class. That same year, she married and moved to St. Paul, Minnesota. Rosalie worked at W.T. Grant and Company in Port Arthur and in St. Paul, Minnesota for several years. In 1959, she went to work at Texaco Case and Package, where she met her husband, J.C. Dartez. The family moved to Winnie in 1964 where Rosalie volunteered at the Medical Center of Winnie serving for almost sixteen years in various positions. From President to head of the gift shop, she loved doing crafts and made hundreds of flower arrangements and wreaths for employees and patients.

Rosalie loved to cook Italian and Cajun dishes for her loving children and grandchildren and her love for bingo and casinos was well known. She spent many hours in the garden and flower beds when she wasn’t traveling the United States and over fifteen foreign countries with Dr. H.J. Cothern and his wonderful travel club.

Survivors include her daughters, Claudia Marie Koons and her husband, Kip, of Willis and Colleen Kay Fontenot and her husband, Charles, of Winnie; son, Charles “Chuck” William Posterick and his wife, Marleen, of Spring; grandchildren, Courtney Golden and her husband, J.B.; Brook Morgan and her husband, Casey; Lindsey Fontenot; Emily Fontenot; Amanda Posterick; Kailey Posterick; and Brendan Posterick; and great-grandchildren, Marley Morgan and Mason Golden.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, J.C. Dartez; and brother, J.C. Lupo.
