Rafaelita “ Tita” Broussard, 73, of Beaumont died February 21, 2005 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital. A native of Inez, Texas and a resident of the area for most of her life. She worked as a manager for El Campesino Restaurant in Winnie. Rafaelita will always be remembered for her cooking, how she enjoyed fishing, crabbing and playing bingo.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Rayford Broussard. Survivors include her son, Robert A. Broussard and his wife Emelda of Beaumont; daughters, Elda Gaudet and her husband Wayne of Beaumont and Sylvia Ann Huff and her husband Mike of Owens, Alabama; grandchildren, Robert A. Broussard, Jr. and his wife Amy, Lisa Renee Feldman and her husband David, Jessica Gaudet, Dustin Gaudet, Christopher Huff and his wife Rebecca, Charles Huff , Cheryl Huff and four great grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Thursday, February 24, 2005 at Cristo Rey Catholic Church followed by burial at Magnolia Cemetery under the direction of Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive. A Rosary will be recited Wednesday evening beginning at 6:00 p.m. at the mortuary.
