Ellen Louise Murphy Dumesnil Broussard, 51, of Beaumont, died Friday, February 18, 2005.
She was born September 21, 1953 a second blessing to James Bernard and Anita Murphy. A strikingly beautiful child, Ellen exhibited a love and great talent for the arts, and a passion for sharing joy, with those around her. Her artistic light paled in comparison to her love for family, particularly her son, Beau Dumesnil III. With these gifts in hand, Ellen graduated from Lamar University in May 1976, and set forth her career as an art teacher for the Beaumont School System.
Although she battled illness, Ellen never failed to see the good in people and never lost her place in our hearts.
Surrounded by the Angels, Ellen Murphy Dumesnil Broussard slipped away and into the arms of the Father that had given her such artistic flair and a huge heart.
Survivors include her son, Beau Dumesnil, III and his wife Karen of Beaumont; mother, Anita Murphy of Beaumont Colony; brothers, James B. Murphy II of Beaumont Colony and Ralph Martin Murphy and his wife Juanita of San Antonio; sisters, Marie Anita Murphy Finley of Bryan and Mary Alice Murphy Fears and her husband Billy of Beaumont Colony; seven nieces and nephews and one great nephew.
Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, February 23, 2005 at Broussard’s Chapel, 2000 McFaddin, Beaumont. A gathering of family and friends will be held immediately following the service at the Junior Forum House, 345 North 10th Street, Beaumont, Texas 77702. A visitation will be 4:00 until 7:00 P.M. Tuesday, February 22, 2005 and from 12:00 noon until time of service on Wednesday at the mortuary. A committal service is planned for a later date.
