Janis Gail Holland, 62, of Kountze, died Wednesday, August 19, 2015. She was born on May 24, 1953, in Port Arthur, to Alma Grantham Oubre and Edson Oubre. Janis was a registered nurse and attended Midway Baptist Church in Kountze.

Survivors include her daughters, Stacy Mendoza and her husband, Ismael, of Fannett and Jennifer Dobyns of George West; and grandchildren, Kymberli Mendoza, Bryttani Mendoza, Keithen Dobyns, and Cassidy Dobyns. She is preceded in death by her parents; and stepfather, Leonard V. Curran.

Her committal will be held at Broussard’s Crematorium, Beaumont.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Midway Baptist Church, 4512 Ellis Drive, Kountze, Texas 77625.

Stacy, so saddened to hear about the passing of your Mother. I worked with Janis at MASH. We left there together to go work at the federal prison. Janis was such a loving, caring person who loved her family. She will truly be missed.
