Jane Pullen Morris, daughter of the late George and Elizabeth Pullen, died January 8, 2004 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital, Beaumont. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, January 11, 2004 at Broussard’s, 1605 N. Major Drive, Beaumont followed by burial in Rosedale Cemetery, Sour Lake. Pallbearers will be Don Mathews, Jimmy Burke, Randy Richard, Jimmy Denton, Carroll Martin, and W.W. Broussard. A gathering of family and friends will be from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Saturday, January 10, 2004 at the mortuary.
A native of Winnsboro, Texas, and resident of Sour Lake for fifty-two years, Mrs. Morris was a graduate of North Texas University. She retired as a Home Economics teacher from Hardin Jefferson Independent School District. She was a longtime member and past president of the Garden Club of Sour Lake, which gave her great pleasure and many blue ribbons. First United Methodist Church of Sour Lake was her religious home. Along with her many other activities, she led an exercise class at the church for more than a decade.
Survivors include her husband of fifty-five years, Pat H. Morris of Sour Lake; son, Kyle Morris and his wife Angie of Round Rock; daughter, Melanie Neal and her husband Gene of Humble; grandchildren, Brooke Hess and her husband Nathan of Allen, Brandi Neal of Humble, Barret Neal of Corrigan, Chris Jones and Delana Morris of Round Rock; and sister-in-law, Marian Morris of Pittsburg.
