Florida Gonzales, 86, of Beaumont died February 3, 2005 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont. Born in Claveria,Cagayan, Phillipines to Ignasio and Nicolasa Martinez Abiva, and a resident of the area since 1984, she will be remembered for her love of gardening, crocheting, sewing and taking care of children.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Roque Gonzales and daugher, Erlinda Bie. Survivors include daughters, Zenaida Laserna and her husband Laurence and Estrella Gonzales all of Beaumont; son, Cirilo Gonzales of Manila, Phillipines; brothers, Matias Abiva of Hawaii and Bonifacio Abiva of the Phillipines; and twelve grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Monday, February 7, 2005 at St. Pius X Catholic Church followed by burial at Magnolia Cemetery under the direction of Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. A Christian Vigil will be at 6:00 p.m. Sunday at the mortuary.
