On Thursday, February 03, 2005, our mother, Anne Margaret (Sis) Jordan, closed her eyes to this world and looked into the face of her Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ.

Born to Oscar and Susie (Youngblood) Overstreet September 25, 1921 in Nona, Texas, where she grew up with her sister Dixie (Donelson) and her three brothers Cecil, Burr and A.B. (all deceased).

Margaret graduated from Kountze High School in 1938 where she had been an outstanding basketball player. During her senior year at St. Mary’s Nursing School in Port Arthur, Texas, she married Floyd Clayton Jordan, Sr. After World War II, Margaret and Floyd moved to Polk County, near the Segno Oilfield, and there spent the remainder of their lives.

Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, 2 infant daughters and 2 grandsons, Scott Clayton Jordan and Jonas Floyd McMillian.

Survivors include 5 children, Floyd C. (Sandy) Jordan, Jr. Bonnie Gates, Ginger Jordan- Schulz (Carl), Susan Cain (Buddy) and Joliene Overstreet (James); 8 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.

The family would like to take this opportunity to thank the two wonderful women who were Mother’s caregivers, Tricia Lambright and Kay Sanders. May God bless you for loving Mother and treating her with such tender care and dignity.

Services will be held Saturday, February 5, 2005 at 2:00 P.M. at Broussard’s Chapel, 700 W. Saratoga Hwy, Kountze, Texas with Pastor Mitchell Murphy officiating and Pastor Joe Sanders assisting in the services. Burial will follow at Holland Cemetery in Kountze.

She was the funniest great-aunt ever. She told great stories and wrote great letters. We will miss her always, Carol

Sis was more a sister than an aunt as she, Dixie, Sonya and I all grew up together. She and Floyd and their kids had the best senses of humor than any family I ever knew. In later years, she was also my confidant and support when problems belaid my own family. We all miss her but we know she is with her Floyd and others who have gone before, and we will be with her, and them, again.
