Jack House went home to be with his Lord on February 1, 2005.
Jack, a devoted husband, father and grandfather, was born in Shreveport, Louisiana on June 18, 1937. He spent the majority of his life in Lubbock, Texas. He graduated from Lubbock High School, Lubbock Christian University, and Texas Tech University. Jack served his country for two years in the United States Marine Corp.
Jack moved to Beaumont in 1965 and began his professional career in finance with American National Bank. While in Beaumont, he met and married his soul mate, Sally McDonald. They later moved to Lubbock where he started his own business, Credit Consultants and Advantage Marketing.
Jack loved living in Lubbock near his parents, Jack and Lee House. In Lubbock he raised three beautiful children who were the light of his life. He was active in his community, serving as a Rotarian, and a member of Broadway Church of Christ. As an avid Texas Tech fan, he rarely missed an opportunity to attend sporting events and remained a devoted Red Raider throughout his life.
In 1985 the family relocated back to Beaumont. People who knew Jack would describe him most as a devoted family man and a man of God. One of the most meaningful things to Jack was the time he spent with his Sunday night Bible Study Group from Cornerstone Church of Christ. He loved to grow in his knowledge of God’s word. Jack was an active member of Trinity United Methodist Church.
Jack is survived by his loving wife of thirty-eight years, Sally House; son, Ryan House; daughters, Laurie Ritchel and her husband Mark and Theresa Matthews and her husband James. He felt very blessed to have two granddaughters, Katie Kiker and Megan Matthews who meant the world to him.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 4, 2005 at Trinity United Methodist Church with burial to follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery, under the direction of Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. A gathering of family and friends will be on Thursday from 5:00 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. at the mortuary.
The family would like to thank Dr. Santos Soberon for his extraordinary loving care for Jack. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to their favorite charity or to Lamar University, P.O. Box 10011, Beaumont, Texas 77710.
