Betty Ann LeBlanc Taylor, 81, passed away peacefully on September 10, 2014, at Emeritus of Dowlen Oaks in Beaumont, Texas, surrounded by her family. Born September 24, 1932, and a lifelong resident of Big Hill (Fannett), Texas, Betty was the daughter of E.L. “Bub” and Annie Belle LeBlanc.

She married J.H. “Bub” Taylor on December 29, 1951. Bub and Betty were partners in farming and ranching for fifty-four years until the death of Bub. She was a happy farmer’s wife and looked forward to cooking for the cattle working men when she wasn’t supporting her various organizations. Betty was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Fannett. Through her dedication to St. Mary’s, she formed lasting relationships with many parish priests and parishioners. At the church she was a dedicated member of St. Mary’s Altar Society, St. Mary- St. Louis-Maria Catholic Daughters of America and taught Catholic Catechism classes for years. On most Tuesdays, you could find the St. Mary’s Sewing Club, made up of women from mostly the Altar Society, at Betty’s making sock monkeys and clowns to sell to raise money for the church. When her children were in school she served on various school related organizations. She loved to shop, gamble with her brother-in-law, Ted, and spend time with family and friends.

Betty is survived by her children, Mary Goss of Channelview; Terry LeBlanc and her husband, Mike, of Erath, Louisiana; and Joseph “Joe” Howard Taylor, Jr. and his wife, Michelle “Shelly” of Big Hill (Fannett); brother-in-law, Ted Loupe of Fannett; her favorite niece, Patricia “Pat” Craigen of Katy; grandchildren, Micah Gill of Channelview; Judd Melancon and his wife, Jada, of Pearland; Kelli Miller and her husband, Josh, of League City; Kara Mabe and her husband, Michael, of Pearland; Carli Jo Taylor and Joseph Trace Taylor, both of Fannett; great-grandchildren, Brooke Wood, Haydn Wood, Jase Taylor Melancon, Julianne Kay Melancon, and Jillian Jaymes Melancon; and numerous relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, J.H. “Bub” Taylor; sister, Mary Bell Loupe; brothers, L.T. LeBlanc and Larry LeBlanc; and mother-in-law, Lillie Bell Craigen Taylor.

The family would like to thank Emeritus of Dowlen Oaks and all of its wonderful staff, Century and Riverside Hospice, and Dr. Dederian and his staff at Renal Center of Beaumont.

A Rosary for Mrs. Taylor will be recited at 6:00 p.m., with a gathering of her family and friends to follow on Friday, on September 12, 2014, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., on Saturday, September 13, 2014, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 9894 Gilbert Road, Fannett, with interment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Beaumont.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to St. Mary Catholic Church Building and Contingent Fund, 9894 Gilbert Road, Beaumont, Texas 77705-8878.

So sorry for the loss of your beautiful mother! She was such a blessing to know. I always enjoyed talking with her. She was one of my all time favorite people. I know she was so proud of you all. May God Bless you in your time of sorrow. I'm sad that my dad and I were unable to attend her service. Dan Clubb sends his condolences , also.

I am certainly going to miss my Monday, Wednesday, & Friday dates both morning & afternoons with Ms. Betty. I got to spend wonderful Me Time With Her not just these days, but everyday. She brought so much joy to my life-- especially since I lost both my parents. I will always cherish the time we spent together and we visited alot about our Catholic backgrounds. She taught me alot about some things I was not even aware of about the true meanings of saying the Rosary. I would also like to thank all of the Family for making me a part of the Family. Love! I was only blessed to have met you a couple times through family functions, therefore, I never had the opportunity nor privilege to get to know your full spirit. I do, however know, that you were very much loved and respected by Joel, Laura and their babies. God bless.....full speed ahead!
