Nelda Hicks, 81, of Beaumont, died Wednesday, February 5, 2014, at Jefferson Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Beaumont. A native and lifelong resident of the area, she was born on March 7, 1932, to Hallie Davis Corrigan and George Corrigan.
Survivors include her husband, Beau Hicks; sons, Michael Hicks of Taylor and Stephen Hicks of Burnet; daughter, Cindy Hicks of Beaumont; grandchildren, Erin Hicks, Andrea Jestice, Stevie Hicks, Cassie LeBlanc, Josh Hicks, Ashley Hicks, and Krissy Hicks; great-grandchildren, Dade Castille, Shaun Darrell, Olivia Jestice, Evee O’Bier, Mackinzie Lowe, Maddison LeBlanc, and Ford Jestice; sisters, Doris Knupple and Polly Wells; sister-in-law, Margaret Jones; brother-in-law, Larry Joe Hicks; and a host of nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; and great-granddaughter, Ava Jane Miller.
A gathering of Mrs. Hicks’ family and friends will begin at 10:00 a.m. with her memorial service to follow at 11:00 a.m., Monday, February 10, 2014, at Wesley United Methodist Church, 3810 North Major Drive, Beaumont, under the direction of Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. A family committal was held at Broussard’s Crematorium, Beaumont.
