Barbara Grace LeBlanc, 68, of LaBelle, died Sunday, January 26, 2014, at home surrounded by her family. She was born July 28, 1945, to William and Inez Pitt. A native of Nashville, Tennessee, she married James LeBlanc of LaBelle, and has resided in Texas for the last fifty years. Barbara worked for a number of years as a bookkeeper, but most of her life was as a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was not only “Mommy” to her children, she was their best friend. Barbara was “Maw Maw” to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and they were the light of her life. The grandchildren describe it as “we were taught to LOVE at Maw Maw and Paw Paw's house.” Barbara was a longtime member of LaBelle Baptist Church and was described by many as having a sweet, sweet spirit. She was teacher, mentor and friend to many. Barbara was a two-time survivor of breast cancer and was also described as “one of the strongest women I have ever known,” and “one of the best Sunday school teachers I ever had.” Her love of the Lord was apparent in every aspect of her life.

Barbara is survived by her husband of fifty years, James LeBlanc; daughter, Renee Melanson and her husband, Carson, of Hamshire; son, Wayne LeBlanc and his wife, Christi, of Fannett; granddaughters, Kaylee LeBlanc, Jacie LeBlanc, Lyndsie Roebuck and her husband, Daniel and Meagan Melanson of Hamshire; grandsons, Clint LeBlanc and his wife, Brandy, Chris Rosetta and Joey Rosetta of LaBelle; great-grandchildren, Kenli LeBlanc Clubb, Cora and Cort LeBlanc, Ryder, Rebel and Rush Roebuck and Hayden Suddath; sisters, Patsy Harris, Peggy Duke and her husband, Tony, Edith Brown, Rosemary Rose, Sheila Douglas and Pam Walker; and many other family members and friends.

A gathering of Mrs. LeBlanc’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 29, 2014, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. Her funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, January 30, 2014, at Broussard’s, with interment to follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park, Port Neches.

Memorial contributions may be made to LaBelle Baptist Church, 9400 FM 365 Road, Beaumont, Texas 77705.

Mom, my heart is broken. I miss you so much already. You were my hero and my best friend and you inspired me to be the person that I am today. I know I will see you again one day and that helps, but right now my heart hurts. I love you as big as the sky.
Love, Renee
