Joyce Elaine “Honey” Leger Miller, 73, of Winnie, died on Saturday, November 30, 2013, with her family by her side. She was born on February 22, 1940, in Winnie, to Amelia Leger and Emile Leger.

Joyce, or “Honey”, as she was nicknamed by her father, was a devout Catholic who loved the Church, reading the Bible, and praying the Holy Rosary. She loved music and singing, working jigsaw puzzles and playing games with her grandchildren. She was an excellent seamstress and loved working with and caring for her mother. Joyce loved cooking and was known for her homemade bread, pot pies, and okra and tomatoes. She enjoyed traveling with her husband and kids around the country, and was blessed to visit many exciting places. She loved her daughter-in-laws and son-in-laws as much as her own children and they all loved her the same. She was the love of Wilbert’s life. Joyce centered her life around her family, her husband, her parents, her brothers, and sisters, and her children and grandchildren. She will be missed by all of us.

Survivors include her loving husband, Wilbert Miller, Sr. of Fannett; sons, Wilbert “Buddy” Miller, Jr. and his wife, Ruth, of Fannett; Kyle Miller and his wife, Cynthia, of Fannett and James Miller of Beaumont; daughters, Pam Hargraves and her husband, Greg, of Nederland and Debbie Clark and her husband, Patrick, of Winnie; brothers, Jerrell Leger and his wife, Ruthie, of Winnie and Elroy Leger and his wife, Jeannette, of Arlington; sisters, Erma Simon and her husband, Dalton, of Winnie and Beverly Guidry and her husband, David of Fannett; grandchildren, Zachary Clark, Lester Perrin, Brian Perrin, Russell Hargraves, Christa Martin, Jason Vandiver, Chelsea Miller, and Nathan Miller; great-grandchildren, David Warthen, Gavin Perrin, Noah Perrin, Blaine Perrin, and Oren Vandiver; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A gathering of Mrs. Miller's family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., with a Rosary recited at 6:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 3, 2013, at Broussard's, 134 West Buccaneer Drive, Winnie. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 4, 2013, at St Louis Catholic Church, 315 West Buccaneer Drive, Winnie, with interment to follow at Fairview Cemetery, Winnie.

Uncle Wilbert, Debbie, Pam, Kyle, and Buddy, I know you are all missing Aunt Joyce so much right now. You will forever, but I know you know she is in the arms of Jesus as we speak. I have learned that Heaven is instant when someone dies, and you meet all the people you knew and loved in your life who has gone before you. That brings me so much comfort and I hope it does for you too. I love you all so very much!
