Helen H. Byrd, 96, of Beaumont, died Saturday, November 23, 2013, at Calder Woods, Beaumont. She was born on March 29, 1917, in Crystal River, Florida, to Allie Wells Head and Benjamin Louis Head, and had been a resident of the Beaumont area since 1940. Helen was a retired payroll clerk with Gulf States Utilities.
She is survived by her daughter, Carol Summerlin and her husband, Bill; granddaughters, Becky Crysel and her husband, Willie and Lori Cormier and her husband, Troy, all of Beaumont; and great-grandsons, Corbin Cormier and Colin Cormier.
A gathering of Ms. Byrd’s family and friends will be from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m., Sunday, November 24, 2013, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. Her funeral service will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, November 25, 2013, at Broussard’s, with interment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Beaumont.
