Odene McCormack, 94, of Beaumont, died Friday, August 23, 2013, in Angleton, Texas. She was born November 29, 1918, in Carthage, Mississippi. Odene was the daughter of Viola Sanders Withers and James Withers. She loved gardening, flowers, spending time at the beach gathering seashells, quilting and puzzles.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence David “Mac” McCormack; her parents; numerous brothers and sisters; special nephew and niece; and her very spoiled poodle, Charlie.  Even though Odene didn’t have any children, she helped raise many nieces and nephews.  She is survived by her “special grandkids”, numerous nieces and nephews; and a very special neighbor, Jay Webb.

A Rosary will be recited 5:00 p.m., Monday, August 26, 2013, with a gathering of Mrs. McCormack's family and friends to follow, at Broussard's, 2000 McFaddin Avenue, Beaumont. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 27, 2013, at Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church, 4445 Avenue A, Beaumont, with interment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Beaumont.
