John “Nine” DeLuna, Jr., 77, of Beaumont, died Friday, August 23, 2013, at Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas, Beaumont. A native and lifelong resident of Beaumont, he was born on December 7, 1935, to Marcella Ramirez DeLuna and John DeLuna, Sr.

John was an avid Texas Rangers baseball fan and liked the Houston Texans.

Survivors include his brother, Pete DeLuna and his wife, Lisa; and sister, Guadalupe DeLuna, all of Beaumont.

A Christian Vigil will be 6:00 p.m., Sunday, August 25, 2013, followed by a gathering of Mr. DeLuna’s family and friends at Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin Avenue, Beaumont. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 2:00 p.m., Monday, August 26, 2013, at St. Anthony Cathedral Basilica, 700 Jefferson Street, Beaumont, with interment to follow at Magnolia Cemetery, Beaumont.
