Ada Mae Rose, 79, of Nederland, died Saturday, August 17, 2013. She was born on May 15, 1934, to Lela Mae and L.Y. Johnson, in Cleburne, and had been a lifelong resident of the area. Ada devoted her life to caring for her family. She attended First Baptist Church in Nederland. Ada enjoyed painting, sewing, gardening, traveling, and cooking, but most of all loved her grandchildren.

She is survived by her children, Donna Curl of Orange; Donald Glen Rose and his wife, Deborah; and Dwight Rose, all of Nederland; and Darlene Fontenot and her husband, Trent, of Groves; grandchildren, Mathew Stephens, Brandon Stephens, Christopher Paul Rose, Michael Glen Rose, Derick Gene Rose Dylan James Rose, Jessica Lynne Tucker, and Hannah Marie Fontenot; great-grandchildren, Gavin Bodin and Rylee Price-Ray; sister, Doris Faye Manning of Beaumont; brother-in-law, Cecil Rose and his wife, Elaine; and sister-in-law, Phoebe West.

Ada is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Donald Rose; and brother, Dale Johnson.

A gathering of Mrs. Rose’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 20, 2013, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. Her funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 21, 2013, at Broussard’s, with interment to follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park, Port Neches.
