Cherry Ford, 85, of Beaumont, died Thursday, August 15, 2013, at Autumn Grove Cottage, Houston. She was born on October 20, 1927, in Pineland, to Ila Mae Cherry Lindsey and Herschel S. Lindsey, and had been a long time resident of the Beaumont area.

Cherry retired after thirty-five years with Texas Department of Transportation. She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi and a member of First Church of God.

She is survived by her son, Kenneth W. Ford and his wife, Carol; daughter, June Blanchard and her husband, Hugh; grandchildren, Cherry Woodsmall, Fonda Woodsmall Sanders, Keven Wayne Ford, Darryc Freasier, Darla Ravander, Kyle McLeod, and Brian Blanchard; great-grandchildren, Joseph, Jacob, and Jesse Trahan, Darson Guillen, Emily Ravander, Marlee Ford, Robert McLeod, Garrett McLeod, and Caitlin Blanchard; and sister, Pat Free.

Cherry is preceded in death by her husband of sixty years, Emmett L Ford; parents; and son, Bertis Ford.

The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to her caregivers at Autumn Grove Cottage and A*Med Community Hospice, Houston.

A gathering of Mrs. Ford’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Sunday, August 18, 2013, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. Her funeral service will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, August 19, 2013, at Broussard’s, with interment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Beaumont.
