Marguerite Ann Broussard, 94, of Nederland, died Monday, August 12, 2013, at Cypress Glen Nursing Facility in Port Arthur. She was born on June 8, 1919, in Port Lavaca, to Elizabeth and Charles Michna, and had been a resident of Nederland for seventy years.

Marguerite is survived by her sister, Anne Delahoussaye; sons, Gene Broussard and his wife, Barbara and Gerald Broussard and his wife, Maureen, all of Nederland; grandchildren, Clint Broussard, Kemi Jackson, Annette Whitaker, Adrianne Martin, Tracy Newman, and Steve Newman; great-grandchildren, Aaron Farrar, Bryan Farrar, Drew Broussard, Trey Broussard, Drake Broussard, Brittany Whitaker, Bailey Whitaker, Becky Whitaker, Mallorie Martin, and Jacie Martin; and great-great-grandchild, Kaleb Farrar.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Elton Broussard; brothers, Mickey, Charles, and John Lee Michna; and daughter, Gloria Newman.

A gathering of Mrs. Broussard’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 14, 2013, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. Her funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday, August 15, 2013, at Broussard’s, with interment to follow at Memory Gardens of Jefferson County, Nederland.
