Theresa Postell Self, 91, of Bevil Oaks, died Thursday, August 1, 2013, at Harbor Hospice, Beaumont. She was born on August 28, 1921, in Billings, Montana, to Maude M. Cooper Self and Arthur L. Self, and had been a longtime resident of Bevil Oaks. Theresa worked for Southwestern Bell for thirty plus years as a switchboard operator.

She is survived by her sisters, Thelma Kelley, Patra Edds, and Vyonne Dearbonne; her trusted and loving friends who took care of her, Jason and Kelly White, and their children, Colby, Owen, and Zoey; and several nieces and nephews.

Theresa is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Lucius Self; and sister, Barbara Higginbotham.

The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to Linda McGraw and the staff at the YaYa House in Bevil Oaks: Lori, Peggy, Judy, Kellie, and Brenda.

A gathering of Ms. Self’s family and friends will begin at 10:00 a.m., with her funeral service to follow at 11:00 a.m., Monday, August 5, 2013, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. Entombment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Beaumont.
