Mary Lee-Chaney, 93, of Beaumont, died Thursday, August 1, 2013, at Harbor Hospice, Beaumont. She was born on September 17, 1919, in Red Level, Alabama, to Rebecca E. Mason and Charles A. Mason, and had been a longtime resident of the area. Mary was a retired safe deposit manager in the banking industry.

She is survived by her husband, Clarence Chaney; son, Jimmie Lee, Jr. of Arlington; daughter, Marlynn Lee Rumm and her husband, Alan, of Beaumont; stepsons, David S. Chaney and his wife, Diana and Dale Chaney and his wife, Sharon, all of Harper; grandchildren, Laure Lee Etminan of Mansfield, Ginger Lee Kellis of Arlington, and Michael Tucker Rumm of Beaumont; four great-grandchildren; and sister, Jewel Barrow of Red Level, Alabama.

A gathering of Mrs. Lee-Chaney’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Saturday, August 3, 2013, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. Her memorial service will be 3:00 p.m., Sunday, August 4, 2013, at Calvary Baptist Church, 3650 Dowlen Road, Beaumont. A family committal will be held prior to her service at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Beaumont.
