Robert “Robby” M. Clampitt, Jr.,
66, of Nederland, died Thursday, August 1, 2013,
at Christus Hospital,
St. Elizabeth, Beaumont. He was born on May 26, 1947, to Margaret Alice Stagg
Clampitt and Robert Moody Clampitt, Sr. in Jacksonville. Robby spent his career working
as a machinist with Exxon-Mobil. After retiring, his passion was fishing and
spending time with his family, especially his granddaughter.
Robby is survived by his wife,
Mary Ann Clampitt of Nederland; daughter, Carrie Smith and her husband,
Richard, of Baytown; granddaughter, Michaela “Pooh Bear” Smith; sister, Diane
Moss and her husband, Jeff, of Belle, West Virginia; brothers, Wayne Clampitt
of Dripping Springs and Charles Clampitt
and his wife, Kim, of Tomball.
He is preceded in death by his
parents; and uncle, Frank Clampitt.
A gathering of Mr. Clampitt’s
family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Friday, August 2,
2013, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th
Street, Nederland.
His funeral service will be 1:00 p.m., Saturday, August 3, 2013, at
Broussard’s, with interment to follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park, Port Neches.
