Elizabeth J. "Betty" Barrow 
December 26, 1929 - July 29, 2013

Elizabeth J. “Betty” Barrow, 83, of Beaumont, died Monday, July 29, 2013, at home surrounded by her family. She was born on December 26, 1929, in Glenwillard, Pennsylvania, to Frances Mae White Hawn and David Bateman Hawn.

Betty’s passion was collecting and making dolls. She was a member of the Martha White Doll Club and volunteered in the Meals on Wheels Program at Some Other Place for twenty-five years.

Survivors include her husband of sixty-four years, James E. Barrow; daughters, Linda M. Duvall and her husband, Howard, of Beaumont; and Laura McKinnis and her husband, Rick, of Lumberton; grandchildren, Kim Outlaw and her husband, Michael, of League City; Jimmy Duvall and his wife, Lori, of Groves; and Ricky Meza of Lumberton; great-grandchildren, Landes Outlaw, Colin Duvall, Joseph Waylon Outlaw, and Kinsley Duvall; brother, Robert Hawn of Lumberton; and sister, Helen Cannon of Silsbee.

She is preceded in death by her two younger brothers, Allen Hawn and William Hawn.

Special thanks to her caregivers, Laura Fontenot, Roxie Martin, Ada Thibodeaux, Sherry Martin, Texas Home Health Hospice, and her nurse, Amy Meranda.

A gathering of Mrs. Barrow’s family and friends will be from 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, July 31, 2013, at Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin Avenue, Beaumont. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, August 1, 2013, at St. Anthony Cathedral Basilica, 700 Jefferson Street, Beaumont, with interment to follow at Magnolia Cemetery, Beaumont.
