Laua Singleton, 89, of Kountze, died Tuesday, July 30, 2013, at Dubuis Hospital, Beaumont.  He was born on April 5, 1924, in DeRidder, Louisiana.  Laua was a United States Army veteran having served in World War II and was retired with Neches Title.

Survivors include his wife, Virginia Singleton; son, John Singleton and his wife, Barbara, of Beaumont; and stepchildren, Carol Hunt and her husband, Richard, of Batson; Rhonda Coe of Midland; Bill Kellas of Austin; Steve Kellas and his wife, Kathy, of Lumberton; Vicki Brungardt and her husband, Darrin, of San Juan, Puerto Rico; and Larry Kellas and his wife, Deborah, of Lindale. 

He is preceded in death by his son, Jimmy Singleton.

A gathering of Mr. Singleton’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Thursday, August 1, 2013, at Broussard’s, 530 West Monroe, Kountze.  His funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, August 2, 2013, at Broussard’s, with interment to follow at Old Hardin Cemetery, Kountze.
