Elsie Meyer, 99, of Beaumont, was called by the Lord from this life on July 19, 2013.  Born February 22, 1914, in Dallas, Texas, she was one of ten children.  Elsie married Reverend William Meyer in 1935 and they arrived in Beaumont in 1939, where he was Pastor of St. John Lutheran Church until 1973.  She worked at the White House Department Store for forty-two years.

She is survived by her daughter, Ruth Ann Meyer; son, William Meyer, Jr.; son-in-law, Donald Zielke; grandchildren, Jonathan Zielke and his wife, Cindy; Debbie Lesher and her husband, John; Cynthia Goodwin and her husband, Dan; and Daryl Zielke and his wife, Marzella; and great grandchildren, Alena, Brianna and Angela Goodwin; Cameron, Justin and Seth Zielke; and Spencer and Allison Lesher.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Reverend William Meyer and her daughter, Dorothy Zielke.

Services for Mrs. Meyer will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 30, 2013, at St. John Lutheran Church, 2955 S. Major Drive, Beaumont, followed by burial at Forest Lawn Cemetery under the direction of Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin, Beaumont.
