William A Lytle, 94, loving husband and long-time Beaumont resident, passed away on Sunday, July 14, 2013. Mr. Lytle was born to Pearl and Harry Lytle, on June 11, 1919, in Crowley, Louisiana. He later moved to Beaumont with his parents, brothers, and sisters.

Bill was a World War II veteran and was stationed in England for three years while serving in the United States Air Force. He married his beloved wife, Jaqueline (Jackie) Irwin Lytle, in 1953. Mr. Lytle worked for Mobil Oil Corporation as a pipe fitter for many years prior to his retirement. During his years with Mobil Oil, he was active with Local 4-243 of the Industrial Union. After retiring from Mobil Oil, he was employed by Congressman Jack Brooks.

Mr. Lytle was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church and the Grumpy Old Men Sunday school class. He was also a member of Masonic Lodge #286 in Beaumont.

Mr. Lytle was a devoted husband, son, brother, uncle, and friend. He remained dedicated to his family throughout his life and was generous with his time and guidance to them. The twinkle in his eye and his quick wit will be missed by all.  

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of fifty-nine years, Jackie; brother, James E. Lytle and his wife, Francis; and a host of adoring nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; five sisters; and two brothers.

A gathering of Mr. Lytle’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Friday, July 19, 2013, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. His funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, July 20, 2013, at Wesley United Methodist Church, 3810 North Major Drive, Beaumont, with entombment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Beaumont.
