Grace Jacobs, 90, of Nederland, went to be with the Lord, Sunday, July 14, 2013.  She was born on June 2, 1923, in Louisville, Kentucky, to Rose Ann Hemerle Steier and Emery George Steier.  Mrs. Jacobs was a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother.  She loved taking care of her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, William Jacobs, Jr.; daughters, Judy Gray and her husband, James; Sherry Read and her husband, Ronnie, all of Nederland; sons, Thomas Jacobs and his wife, Allie, of Louisiana; James Jacobs and his wife, Pia, of Nederland; Douglas Jacobs and his wife, Rena, of California; Jerry Jacobs and his wife, Christa, of Groves; Christopher Jacobs and his wife, D’Layne, of Nederland; daughter-in-law, Rhonda Jacobs; twenty-seven grandchildren; and thirty-four great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents; sons, William Jacobs III and Jeff Jacobs; sister, Rosemary Cambron; brothers, Emery Steier and Virgil Steier.

A gathering of Mrs. Jacobs’ family and friends will begin at 5:00 p.m., with a Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 16, 2013, at Broussard’s, 505 12th Street, Nederland.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 17, 2013, at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 211 Hardy Avenue, Nederland, with interment to follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park.
