J.L. Broaddus, 83, of Warren, died Saturday, July 6, 2013, at home surrounded by family and friends.  He was born February 19, 1930, in Caldwell, to Lela Hill Broaddus and James Broaddus.  J.L. was a United States Navy veteran and was proud to have served in Korea.  He retired in 1992 with Firestone in Orange as a maintenance supervisor. J.L. was a loving father and grandfather who will be missed.

Survivors include his children, Kerry Broaddus of Clearwater, Florida, Kelly Henderson of Warren, Tony Broaddus of Pineland, and Dana Smith of Warren; and grandchildren, Becca Broaddus, Cory Broaddus, Dallas Broaddus, Robbie Smith, and Allyssa Richard.

J.L. is preceded in death by his wife, Elsie Broaddus; and son, Steve Broaddus.

A memorial service for Mr. Broaddus will be scheduled at a later date.  His committal was held at Broussard’s Crematorium, Beaumont, under the direction of Broussard’s, 530 West Monroe, Kountze.
