Mary Ann Parks, 49, of Groves, died Friday, July 5, 2013, at Christus Hospital St. Mary, Port Arthur. She was born on August 9, 1963, to Eloise and Guy Parks, in Port Arthur, and had been a lifelong resident of the area. Mary liked spending time outdoors, especially gardening and fishing. She also enjoyed visiting with others and never met a stranger. Most of all, she loved her family.

Mary is survived by her daughter, Shanna Parks Smoke of Bridge City; grandchildren, Landon Smoke and Lexi English; brother, Otis Parks and his wife, Valerie, of Port Neches; and numerous nieces, nephews, uncles, and aunts.

She is preceded in death by her parents; and brother, George.

A gathering of Ms. Parks’ family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Sunday, July 7, 2013, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. Her funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, July 8, 2013, at Broussard’s, with interment to follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery, Chester.
