Johnny James Rossi
June 26, 1950 - July 3, 2013

Johnny James Rossi, 63, of Beaumont, passed away July 3, 2013, at Christus Hospital St. Elizabeth, Beaumont, after a lengthy illness. He was born in Beaumont, to Bessie and Tony Rossi on June 26, 1950.

He graduated from Beaumont High in 1968 and served in the United States Army after graduating high school. He worked for PPG and Unocal Refinery for a number of years before his illness forced him to take an early retirement in 1982.

Johnny loved his family and friends and had great enjoyment with his bowling buddies.  Johnny was very proud of bowling a “perfect 300” game and sported his ring and jacket.  He loved to go to the Single Club to dance to good country music and oldies, and he enjoyed playing guitar with his cousins and friends and cruising on his motorcycle.  Like all men, Johnny shared a love for classic cars and enjoyed taking special care of his 396 Super Sport Chevelle.  He spent many hours at the gym working out and sharing his enthusiasm for body building.  He was also a devout Dallas Cowboy fan!

He would love to spend time reminiscing about old times at the beach with all his family and friends. A true “Italian”, he couldn’t wait for the family to get together for a homemade spaghetti dinner.

Johnny is survived by his son, Shawn Rossi and his wife, Tamsyn; grandsons, Traeven and Kash of Thortnon, Colorado; step-son, Craig Allan Pettersen of Seaside, California; and brother, Lynn Rossi of Beaumont.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Bessie and Tony Rossi; and his sister-in-law, Elizabeth Jean Rossi.

A gathering of Mr. Rossi’s family and friends will be from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., with a Rosary recited at 6:00 p.m., Sunday, July 7, 2013, at Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin Avenue, Beaumont. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Monday, July 8, 2013, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1115 Orange Street, Beaumont, with interment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Beaumont.

The family would like to give special thanks to Intrepid Home Health and Dr. Jay Schachner for their care and dedication to Johnny. We would like to say a very special thank you to his cousin, Gina Romero, who spent countless hours and days giving love and care to Johnny. Words cannot express the gratitude we have to this lady.
