Marie Ewart Pell Ledbetter, 89, of Hamshire, died Saturday, June 29, 2013, at The Arboretum of Winnie. She was born on August 21, 1923, in New Orleans, Louisiana, to Delphine LeBlanc Ewart and Frank Oliver Ewart, and had been a resident of the area since 1983.  Marie was a retired nurse.

Marie is survived by her son, James R. Pell and his wife, Frankie, of Silsbee; daughters, Cecile D. Lucas of San Antonio and  Suzanne M. Clubb and her husband, David, of Hamshire; fourteen grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren;

She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Ledbetter; father of her children, George W. Pell, Sr; son, George W. Pell, Jr.; daughter, Cindy Heinen Kennedy; and grandson, Heinz J. Heinen.

A gathering of Mrs. Ledbetter’s family and friends will begin at 1:00 p.m., with her funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, June 30, 2013, at Broussard’s, 134 West Buccaneer Drive, Winnie.  Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Winnie.
