Melba Dugas Wells 
November 18, 1924 - June 28, 2013

  

 

Melba Dugas Wells, 88, of Port Arthur, passed away on Friday, June 28, 2013, at her home.  She was born on November 18, 1924, in St. Martinsville, Louisiana, to Mack and Edith Dugas.  A resident of Port Arthur since 1926, Melba was a member of Val Verde Baptist Church for thirty-nine years.

 

 

Survivors include her daughter, Carolyn Wilson of Beaumont; son, Gary Wells and his wife, Carolyn, of Nederland; grandchildren, Wendy Powell and her husband, David, of Beaumont; Scott Wilson of Lumberton; Kevin Wells of Port Arthur; Kim Loupe and her husband, Mark, of Port Neches; and Dawn Miller of Groves; great-grandchildren, Kasey Bandeaux, Stephen Wilson, Derek Wilson, Hunter Loupe, Hailey Loupe and Jared Miller; sister, Jane Gillespie of Nederland; and numerous nieces and nephews.  Melba is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Clessen “Tee” Wells, Jr.; daughter, Janis Lindbeck; three brothers; and three sisters.

 

A gathering of Mrs. Wells’ family and friends will be Monday evening, July 1, 2013, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland.  Her funeral service will be 11:00 a.m., on Tuesday, July 2, 2013 at Broussard’s, followed by burial at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
