Mackenzie Claire “Zie Zie” Patterson, 9 year old daughter of Stephanie DeRouen Patterson and Jefferey David Patterson of Nederland, passed away June 27, 2013, at Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston.  Born December 4, 2003, in Beaumont, Zie Zie was a student at Langham Elementary. She loved arts and crafts as well as horses, dogs, cats, and she wanted to be a veterinarian. 

Zie Zie is survived along with her parents by her sister, Sabrina Patterson of Nederland; grandparents, Gayla and Steve DeRouen of Nederland; Kathleen Toliver Patterson and the late Floyd Patterson of Groves; and Lucia Booth and the late Alan Wayne Booth of Nederland; great-grandparents, Neva DeRouen of Jasper and Gerald and Marie McClure of Nacogdoches; aunts and uncles, Katie and Jerry Patterson of Groves, Alana and Billy Martin of Oklahoma, Jessica and Colby Daniels of Nederland, and Steve “Moe” and Pam Patterson of Beaumont; cousins, Michael, Garrett and Abby Brown and Cayla Martinez and her fiancé, Robert; a host of great aunts, uncles, cousins and loved one’s; and her best friend, Gizmo Kitty.

A gathering of Mackenzie’s family and friends will be Sunday evening, June 30, 2013, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland.  Funeral services for Mackenzie will be Monday, July 1, 2013, at 10:00 a.m., at First United Methodist Church, 104 North 13th Street, Nederland, followed by burial at Memory Gardens of Jefferson County in Nederland.
