Richard "Richie" Paul Hamric, Jr. 
February 11, 1956 - June 26, 2013

Richard “Richie” Paul Hamric, Jr., 57, of Fannett, died Wednesday, June 26, 2013, at Harbor Hospice, Beaumont. He was born on February 11, 1956, in Orange, to Marguerite and Richard Hamric, Sr., and had been a longtime resident of the area. Richie was a Tank Farm “A” Operator with Veolia Environmental Services for twenty-three years.

 

Richie had a love for bicycling; he enjoyed getting groups of people together to ride. He was always encouraging others to take up the sport. Richie enjoyed taking his family on vacation in Colorado to bike in the mountains and on bike trails. He had a great sense of humor and loved to talk, make jokes, and pick on people. Some other hobbies he enjoyed are hiking and kayaking.

 

Richie is survived by his wife of thirty-six years, Danice Hamric; sons, Scott Hamric of Fannett and Richard Hamric III and his wife, Jamie, of Bossier City, Louisiana; grandchildren, Landon, Macie, and Nolen Hamric; sisters, Jaqueline Kyle and her husband, Keith, of Orange and Anna Dean Thomas of Lake Charles, Louisiana; mother, Marguerite Hanks Hamric of Orange; nephews, Paul Dean, Wes Kyle, and Brent Kyle; nieces, Britton Dean Cooksey, April Whitehead, and Cara Sherman; and sister-in-law, Wanette Sherman.

 

He is preceded in death by his father, Richard Hamric, Sr.; mother-in-law, Wanda Clubb; and nephew, Robert Dean.

 

A gathering of Mr. Hamric’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Friday, June 28, 2013, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. His funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, June 29, 2013, at Grace Community Baptist Church, 22044 Burrell Wingate, Fannett, with interment to follow at Landrum Cemetery, Fannett.
