Irene Kirkland, 88, of Beaumont, died Sunday, June 23, 2013. A lifelong resident of Beaumont, she was born on April 16, 1925, to Janie Thompson Williams and Hez Williams.

Survivors include her son, Charles Leroy Kirkland; daughters, Waldean Matthews and her husband, Herbert, Jr. and Mary Jane Leger, all of Beaumont; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

A gathering of Ms. Kirkland’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 25, 2013, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. A private family graveside service will be held Wednesday at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Beaumont.
