Betty Edmiston, 75, of Beaumont, died Wednesday, June 12, 2013, at Christus Hospital St. Elizabeth, Beaumont. She was born on September 3, 1937, to Margie Irene Morgan Caraway and C.B. Caraway, in Tyler.

She was an avid reader and was also talented in needle pointing and knitting. Betty was a good cook and enjoyed traveling. She was a very welcoming and accepting person who never met a stranger.

Survivors include her husband, Jerry Edmiston; children, Howard Rick Edmiston and his wife, Cindy, of Eddy and Victoria “Vicki” Lee Edmiston of Beaumont; and sister, Billie Jack Burgess and her husband, Jack.

Betty is preceded in death by her parents.

A gathering of Mrs. Edmiston’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Friday, June 14, 2013, at The Parlor at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, 1350 North 23rd Street, Beaumont. Her memorial service will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, June 15, 2013, at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, Beaumont, with a committal to follow at St. Andrews Presbyterian Memorial Garden, under the direction of Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont.  A family committal was held at Broussard’s Crematorium, Beaumont.
