Rose Cecelia Culotta Perkins 
December 14, 1932 - June 4, 2013

Rose Cecelia Culotta Perkins was a Beaumont, Texas native. She passed away on June 4, 2013, after a prolonged battle with cancer. Rose was born December 14, 1932, to Charles and Angelina Fertitta Culotta. She attended St. Anne grade school and graduated from St. Anthony High School in the Class of 1951. In 1955, Rose married Edward M. Begnaud of Port Arthur who preceded her in death.

 

Faith and trust in God guided Rose’s life. They were the foundation she used for raising her children. These same values were reflected in her choice of community service. Rose was a dedicated volunteer for Some Other Place for over twenty years.  She volunteered at her church, St. Jude Thaddeus and at United Christian Care Center in Vidor.

 

Rose Perkins is survived by her husband, Billy Perkins of Vidor; children, Rita Begnaud Ashley, Charlotte Begnaud Sheldon, Edward M. C. Begnaud, Jr., Paul G. Begnaud, and Raymond J. Begnaud, Sr.; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. She also leaves behind her siblings, Reverend Monsignor Salvador Culotta, Charles Culotta Jr., Joseph Culotta, and Olivia Culotta McKee.

 

A gathering of Mrs. Perkins’ family and friends will begin at 4:00 p.m., with a Rosary recited at 6:00 p.m., Thursday, June 6, 2013, at Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin Avenue, Beaumont. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Friday, June 7, 2013, at St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church, 6825 Gladys Avenue, Beaumont, with entombment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Beaumont.
